India's 1st JEWELLERY CAR "Tata Nano GOLD PLUS"
Tata Motors seems to have understood what it takes to hog the limelight.
After remaining in the news for years for creating the cheapest car in
the world – The Tata Nano is back in the news after it was covered with
80 kilos [176 pounds] of gold (22 karats) , 15 kilos of silver [33
pounds] and studded with more than 10,000 precious stones and gems.
The one of its kind car boasts a price tag of $4.6 Million ; not that
anyone really expects it to get sold. The car shall be displayed on Tata
owned jewelry stores (yes, the Tata family is literally into every
imaginable business) around India. It is expected to give a fillip to
the Nano as well as the Gold Plus jewelry stores that are being promoted
by Tata.
The staggering Rs 22 crore was launched by none other than the Group
Chairman Ratan Tata himeself. This car is touted as the world's first
ever gold jewellry car. What is more, Tata Group is also paying tribute
through this car to celebrte the 5,000 years of jwellery making industry
in the country.
If Ratan Tata can offer world's cheapest car to the middle class segment
of India, he can as well flaunt it with a Rs 22 crore car, for
promoting the brand and that brings out the astute businessman in him.
The car's body is made with 80 kilogram 22 carat solid gold! That is not
all.....besides gold, 15 kilogram of silver is also being used in the
car, which is studded with precious stones such as diamonds, rubies and
other expensive gemstones, according to an IANS report.
